I did too and the answers didn’t come easily. It kept presenting itself in very weird ways. It came across in the form of frustration, helplessness and even anger at times. And at that time, I had no idea that Universe was pointing me towards my purpose by making me face my frustration points.
When I set up the farm and started my entrepreneurial journey, I had no bearing on what it would lead me to. All I knew was that I wanted to check out of a deceitful system that kept me a slave of chemical farming and industrial food system. All I wanted to do was grow my own food! Once I hired the local women of the village to help me with my farm chores, it became evident that they depended on this income to run their families. Soon, one thing became clear to me. I wanted to make sure I was able to bear the cost of managing the farm. And that meant paying my farm helpers.
I am truly grateful for the opportunity to provide an alternate source of income for these 4 families who work on our farm and consider it my privilege and honour to be able to help just a few people around me.
Therefore I don’t consider my farming venture as a hobby (like many people casually remark). I take it very seriously because I am responsible to take care of them through my income.
Many a times I see people giving free gyan about why others couldn’t be doing this or that for the betterment of the society and it makes me wonder – “Why aren’t these people doing what they want others to do? Why are they always ready to point fingers at someone else instead of focusing on what they themselves can be doing in their capacity?
Preaching doesn’t help anyone, neither does it create change or impact.
Action does! Intention does!
My purpose is to help as many agricultural families as I can through my work and that’s what I’ll continue to focus on. Being the change I want to see in the world!
