Growing Yams, Potatoes and more

Not a dull moment in this journey of Self-sufficiency. There are new crops I am adding to my standard vegetable growing list this year.

This is our first year growing yams and many more. So come along with me as I show you how we are growing sweet potatoes, taro, elephant’s foot yam, potatoes, ginger and garlic in our little half acre farm.

Well, we never just plant one new variety, you know. I am sharing all the details from start to finish, so grab a cup of tea/coffee and settle down.

You can grow all of these varieties in containers too! Except for maybe sweet potatoes which need space to spread a lot…speaking from experience here. I need to transplant some of my sweet potatoes that I tried growing in a container, to my farm asap…they are spreading like crazy  and I love it!

If you know me, I never try just one new variety at a time. Let me know how you like it.
Lots more happening on the farm and I can’t wait to share it with you. Don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube Channel
